Alex Shane’s recent media appearances
Posted by Cab Kennedy on 4/1/2001

On Saturday I accompanied FWA superstar Alex Shane on some of his increasing number of media appearances on behalf of the Frontier Wrestling Alliance.

Alex, outside of his in-ring character, has taken on board a position as spokesperson for the Frontier Wrestling Alliance as well as speaking publicly on behalf of the Combat Performance Academy, following the opening of the FWA Capital City Wrestling School in London two weeks ago.

Yesterday afternoon, Saturday 31st March, Alex Shane appeared on the TV show GAMER, a video game review show playing on NOW Channel (a channel broadcasting on AsiaSat Satellite seen in over 100 countries from Europe to Asia). Alex was interviewed by presenters Sonja Saul and Steve Morgan (who British wrestling fans will remember as UWA commentator Stevie Knuckles) and reviewed the new video game The Simpsons Wrestling.

For those without access to NOW Channel, I’ve been told the show will first debut over the web at NOW Channel’s website from April 4th. Go to:

Jumping into a cab straight after, Alex and I left for the studios of TalkSport Radio (1048/1053am). On Saturday nights TalkSport is hosted by Tommy Boyd and includes a two hour wrestling phone in spot. Two weeks ago Alex was a phone guest talking about the opening of the FWA Capital City Wrestling School and last night Alex was a studio guest. Alex fielded in calls from fans and event tried his One Night Stand finisher on Tommy Boyd, resulting in Tommy having to ‘lie out’ on the floor for 10 mins while Alex took control of the show, taking the calls from the fans, letting them know about how to get into wrestling training, discussing the WWF buyout of WCW, and talking about his match upcoming at the Frontier Wrestling show on April 21st in Bolton.

If you missed it, Alex Shane will be back next Saturday on TalkSport Radio so tune in. The TalkSport website can be found at: http://www.talksport.net
